TWO persons suspected to be rival cult groups member have been killed at different locations within Ughelli Metropolis in a related crisis between two cult groups in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
It was learned that the issue involving the two groups was a result of alleged rentage between one of the side chicks.
One of the killed rival identified as Oghenero Okpos, was clubbed to death at a drinking joint at Sadjere street while the other whose Identity could not be ascertained was killed at Uduere street at Otovwodo community.
According to an inside source, “The issue started when one of the side chicks of a rival member had an issue with another side chick over store rentage at Up Agbarho.
“The issue degenerated to the extent that both their male friends were involved with resulted into life threatening by both cult groups.
“The man who was killed at Uduere street in Otovwodo had gone to the police to report the threat to his life and that of his family before the unfortunate incident happened last Friday.
“Currently we don’t know that cult groups that are involved as non has claimed responsibility of the recently killings, though we are investigating the root cause of the crisis.
On the killing of Oghenero Okpos, the source alleged that a group of youths had had, Sunday afternoon gathered at a joint in Sadjere street when he walked into their midst.
“When he saw the youths with sophisticated weapons, he had to run for his dear life but luck was against him as he was slaughter in his throat and he died instantly in his pool of his blood.”
When newsmen visited the scene of the incident, residents were seen discussing in groups over the ugly incident.
A weeping lady was heard saying, “Oghenero gave me money to buy this cigarettes in my hand and I have not finished smoking it before we heard that some one was killed, only to see that it was my bros.”
As at the time of this report three van of Police had arrived the scene to evacuate the corpse.
